Brent Brown Ballpark

Brent Brown Ballpark is the baseball stadium on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of UVU's baseball team and the minor-league Orem Owlz. It was built in 2005, and holds 5,000 people. With the help of this beautiful ballpark, UVU has transitioned into Division 1 sports in the last 7 years. The stadium has assisted in recruiting for the baseball team at UVU and has helped the program become the school's most competitive team in Division 1 with a tremendous home field advantage. Regular wins over more established programs in the state of Utah are evidence of the advantage this beautiful park has afforded the UVU baseball program.

The name of the ballpark, once disputed between the Orem Owlz and UVU is now posted as Brent Brown Ballpark. The UVU baseball team prefers the name, while the Minor League Owlz use Brent Brown Ballpark, Home of the Orem Owlz. Local sports writers have searched for an easier name to reference and The Triple B seems to be the mostly likely candidate to stick.

Dimensions of the park are a bit quirky: 305' down the left field line quickly angles to 427' just left of dead center which is 408' the right field gap is marked at 388' and angles to 312' down the right field line. The fence also varies in height: 20' high down the left field line for approximately the first 90' and then dropping to 10' throughout the rest of the park.

The odd dimensions of BBB create a hitters park in the vast gaps. One may see the short corner and assume that the park is made for home runs. On the contrary, the sharp angles create areas that are very difficult to hit home runs to. Instead BBB is a double hitters paradise.
